Portable X-ray Spectographs (PortaSpec®)
Turn around times for a PortaSpec® support and service can vary based on the request but often ranges from 1 day to 1 week. We recommend contacting our support team to define and determine what is necessary for the most efficient support request.
Cianflone recommends that your PortaSpec® be calibrated annually to verify proper operation and to prevent any future issues. Some government agencies require periodic calibrations to be certified. Check the regulations in your industry.
Yes, Cianflone has International Distributors who have the capabilities to install and service our full line of PortaSpecs. Parts and accessories can be ordered through the distributor or directly through Cianflone’s U.S. plant.
The PortaSpec® applies power to an x-ray tube which in turn excites elements in the sample. The resulting energy is guided through a collimator onto an analyzing crystal that separates the elements by their wavelength. The wavelength energy is then guided through an upper collimator and into a detector tube where the results are measured and compiled in the PortaSpec® software for results and further analysis.
